So here we have a new acting police commissioner who admit to lying and thus failing a polygraph test. The explanation he give, and one he really feel people would believe, is that he lie to protect matters of national security and he did it to save life and limb. What bulldoody is that?  If I in charge of matters pertaining to national security and someone asks me a question on matters of national security, my response would be ” I cannot answer that, as it is a national security issue”.

Furthermore, what could the person who asking the questions know about national security and covert operations?

So we have here a acting police commissioner who actually stupid enough to believe he could outsmart a lie detector, and actually stupid enough to think that he could even lie about lying and people will believe is the truth.

Wait! That sound just like a PNM minister. No wonder the government prefer him to be Police Commissioner. He go fit in just like hand in glove.

Now where did I put that mop……?

The last thing was to check the main lock-off valve that’s at the front of the house. Sure enough, it was closed and I had a sinking feeling. I opened it, and water started spraying all over the property next door.

What do you think happened? The neighbour demolished his house last week to rebuild and the excavator operator, without checking, ripped up everything, including my main line which was also joined to the neighbour’s main. When water started spraying, apparently they turned off the main valve and said not a word. To add insult to injury, the main valve is on my property! I was unaware that this had happened because my plumbing is set up in such a way that water from the main fills the tank from the top and the pump pulls from the bottom. So the tank wasn’t being filled and I was merrily using water all week. So now I am here with no water in my house except for a few containers and I don’t have to describe my position for you. I made a temporary tap off from the mains on Thursday morning, but as luck would have it, Thursday is the day that they shut off the mains. Yes, I live in a banana republic. WASA is in a mess and s an ex employee, I know this first hand a My ex-employee status allowed me to get them to send someone to look at the situation, however, and they agreed that the two connections needed to be separate. SO they’re coming later today to do that (hopefully) so I’ll be connected again. But then there’s the issue of the locked valve. I have to wait until tonight to get water flowing again. In the meantime, I’ve decided to vent my frustrations with the written word.

So Jesus was kidnapped and ‘God’ is dead. My word! Look where we reach. Nobody is safe in T&T anymore. Who can we turn to now? My beloved country, I grieve for you.

What I wondered, then, is how much training and skill it took to make that dog a drug dealer. Clearly these fellas were talented. So how much better would it have been for them to use this talent legitimately and offer to train other people’s dogs for a fee. But of course, the allure of quick cash is much more appealing than hard work and dedication to building something where you don’t have to sleep with one eye open looking out for police who want to kill you or rival gangsters who also want to kill you.

Trinidad and Tobago is full of people who are talented and could do great things to uplift themselves and the country, but instead many of them decide to use the talent for the wrong thing, and drag themselves and the country down.

Still I keep hope that one day things will get better. I have to, because the alternative is to painful to think about.

On a lighter note, suppose the dog had to go to court to testify and the prosecutor asked him where his owners were when he was delivering drugs for them. He just might answer: “Woof!”

The soaring murder rate of the late 1980s and early 1990s was largely a result of turf wars between gangs running the crack cocaine trade. The turnaround in violence from the early 1990s was attributed to the city’s zero tolerance policy, which saw police crack down on minor offences and drug dealing.

Gang warfare? That sounds familiar. But zero tolerance policy? Even on minor offences? Eh eh. Not in sweet T&T where anything goes, and our national motto is “Free Up Yourself”.
In addition to the attitude of citizens, a big part of the problem is the ridiculous justice system where cases are tied up in courts for years and years. The Bible as a book of wisdom explains T&T’s position quite simply but accurately in Ecclesiasties 8:11. It says:

When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, the hearts of the people are filled with schemes to do wrong.

Plain and simple, there is the root cause of our problem. Everybody could do anything and get off scot free, so everybody does what they want.
Even in the schools, students rule because they can’t be disciplined or expelled for bad behaviour, so they do what they want.
Murder, crime, violence, road deaths; all are tied in to the lack of accountability in T&T. Anything goes in this sweet land of ours.
To the authorities… Bring back accountability. Please fix our justice system or lack thereof. It’s killing T&T.

P.S. If you want to have media briefings from the police, please find someone who can speak clearly and fluently and who will not pause after every three words to think of what to say next. It’s annoying to have to listen to that sort of nonsense and it makes those who run the system appear even more incompetent.

I know for a fact that a great many of the people who voted for the COP were people who would have traditionally voted for the PNM as what they considered the lesser of two evils, the greater evil being you. These folks were tired of both the PNM and the UNC and wanted change. The people who voted COP didn’t want you, Bas. What they wanted was something new, and not the same old stupid talk. You have nothing new to offer. So sit down, take back the Opposition Leader post from Kamla (like how you take everything else from her) and shut up. You will never be Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago again.
